During the summer you can usually find me in one of two outfits: a light summer dress or shorts and a tee-shirt. I have a soft spot for colored shorts and own an array of colors but I struggle for some reason to find the perfect jean shorts. Maybe it is because I’m a tall woman or I’m simply too picky but it seems like every summer I say the same thing- “I’ve got to get a new pair of jean shorts.” Until last month I had been wearing the same pair of baggy jean shorts that I bought years ago (and never fit) and I vowed that this would finally be the summer to get serious with my search. Enter Gap’s 1969 destructed summer shorts.
I love these shorts (they are also on killer sale right now). And the reason that I love them is that they are fitted while still having a bit of stretch and are perfect for pairing with t-shirts or dressing up with a nice sweater. I love Gap because I know the quality of their denim is exceptional and I can rely on their pieces to become staples in my wardrobe that won’t go out of style quickly.
Most days I pair these shorts with my favorite cotton tees. I picked up this crewneck tee at the beginning of the summer and it became a fast favorite. I love how soft Gap’s t-shirts are and I love the crewneck collar- I think it gives a little 70’s throwback flair to my wardrobe. Stripes scream summer to me and I decided to branch out from my usual navy and white thick striped tops to something a bit more subtle.
